Envision 143 million orphans worldwide coming to know Christ. Imagine the blessing of Christ in their lives - a Spiritual transformation to love and serve others the way Christ showed us. How much more praise would be given to God? Imagine the impact you can have on the life of a child. With God, nothing is impossible. Come join us for the first meeting of our Orphan Ministry Team in 2012! We will meet at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17th in the Library.
We are officially launching Parkway Presbyterian’s Orphan Ministry!
Today 163 million children worldwide have no family. Of the 500,000 orphans currently living in the U.S. foster care system, 114,000 of those are without the hope of rejoining their birth families due to a variety of circumstances and are currently waiting to find an adoptive family.
Every orphan has a life story and they desire a family to be a part of that story. By grace, we are adopted to sonship through Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:5-6). And by grace, orphans worldwide will find loving families to give them the same hope we have found through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
We are called to care for orphans in their distress (James 1:27), whether through prayer, relationship, adoption or a combination of these. To honor this call, Parkway Presbyterian Church is making a commitment to serve orphans through ministry. We ask you to pray for these orphans and for this ministry in its desire to serve God’s will and to prayerfully consider the impact you may have in the life of an orphan. Additional information will soon be available on one of the tables in the main hallway near the front entrance of the church.
